A parallel algorithm for the inhomogeneous heat equations

In this paper, L0-stable parallel algorithm is presented for the numerical solutions of the inhomogeneous heat equations. The algorithm is developed by approximating the second-order spatial partial derivative by finitedifference approximation and a matrix exponential function by a rational approximation having distinct real poles. Linear and nonlinear problems are solved using the algorithm and comparisons are made with results from the literature confirming the accuracy of the algorithm.
